Four Facts about the UBC Baseball Indoor Training Centre

  • The structural system is a composite glulam posts and beam system with solid LSL shear wall panels
  • The 32’ wall panels are made from LSL (laminated strand lumber) and the post and beam elements are glue laminated Douglas Fir
  • The entire heavy timber structure will be installed in approx. 2 weeks due to prefabrication of all structural components and an innovative hinged baseplate detail that allows for a quick and accurate tilt-up of all the structural walls.
  • To our knowledge this is the first glulam LSL composite tilt up wall panel system of its kind
