UBC (36-17, 22-11 NAIA W) absorbed a late rally by Oregon Tech (16-37, 7-26 NAIA W) in the opener, then Jeremy Newton (Toronto, Ont.) went the distance in the nightcap, as the Thunderbirds beat the 'Hustlin Owls, 11-6 and 13-1, in a NAIA West doubleheader at Kiger Stadium.
UBC (34-17, 20-11 NAIA W) is looking to win three of four games at Oregon Tech (16-35, 7-24 NAIA W) this weekend and wrap up home field advantage in the NAIA West playoffs.
